LPR - after receiving letter of employment, then?

Post by hkartadi » Mon, 05 Mar 2007 3:22 pm

Hello all,

I moved to singapore using LPR status a month ago, and just last week I was hired by a company.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to complete the LPR to PR formality before I start my employment?
2. Regarding the IC number, will I get it on the day I finished the formality, or I still need to wait the ICA to process the application and mail in Card/IC certificate (I dont know what is it called...)

Thank you for your help

1) doesn't really matter i guess, as you need a letter from your employer to convert your status and all of it happens around the same time basically. difficult to draw the line.

2) i don't remember exactly, but for me i think i only got the number when the IC was issed to me.

hope this helps..
