Carol,

It's not that nobody cares here (your post has been up for almost a full day without any replies), it's just we get tired repeating ourselves and doing searches for every newbie that drops by. We have a search function for our posters to use to find the answers to their questions. It works for them the same way it works for us.

If you think it's an attitude, please change your thinking. We are here to help people to "help themselves" that's why we keep all those old threads. It just like going to the library in a way. You go to the computer to find out the title, author, row & shelf number then you go there and get the information. Same here. When you have exhausted your search and still have a problem you then ask the librarian for help. Same here.

For half of your questions start your research here with regard to ISP's.

For mobile phones also start with Google and "MobileOne", "Singtel" and "Starhub" The plans change weekly, and there are dozens to choose from. Some with free phones on activation other cost a bomb if you want the lastest "3G, PHoto, MP3, cook your breakfast" variety of phone.

Laptops? Funan Shopping Centre if a total newbie or Sim Lim Square if you know what you are doing. Or, Buy a Dell. HP and Acer have reasonably good customer Service. Dell does as well, but to listen to most on the board they think otherwise. I've bought about 25 dells including 4 notebooks in the past 5 years or so. I'm currently using as big Dell 9300 17" notebook while my daughter has a HP multimedia Notebook both are good. Just read and shop around. Notebooks don't really need to be "Set Up" per se. Most come with a full compliment of software already and it's almost goof-proof with Centrino motherboards if you are hooking up to a wireless network.

If you are going to be in Boat Quay area, then you may well not even need an ISP after getting your cellphone. You can just register with your cellphone number for Wireless@SG which is a trial wireless hotspot service that will be free for the next two years. Again, The following thread is just below yours in this forum. See what I mean? :?

If you are in the boat quay area then i guess funans your best bet. Funan is an IT mall and very close to Boat Quay. Has pretty much everything you'll need. Laptop suplliers, mobile phone and ISP's

As for LFC i presume you are refering to Liverpool Football Club. If thats the case i think their supporters club meet at the Penny Black pub on boat Quay

Cheers
