I'm looking for what district would be near the hospital where a new medical school is being built.
What district is it in?
What is the area like?
Crime rate?
Noise?
School?
Please help because I'm clueless about Singapore.

Thank you for responding. I have 2 boys. They will be 9 yrs & 5 yrs old when we get there in August. We were just planning on the public school system. What is close to where we will be?

"We were just planning on the public school system."
Two short statements of the obvious:
Coming in August is halfway through the school year here. This complicates entry into the public system which is highly competitive if the school is any good. At five, the younger will probably have to wait for the 2009 entry into the Primary school system. The local variety of kindergarten is available for him.
Secondly, there will be a degree of culture shock when your children enter the public schools/kindergarten. Not only will they find the Singlish a challenge, but the teaching culture, curriculum and methods are somewhat different to what they will have been used to. Everyone involved will need patience until they learn how to fit in. You may also have to consider private tuition to help them catch up in some of the subjects.
