Aussie looking for work in Singapore!

Post by Kristii » Sun, 25 Feb 2007 11:02 am

Hey there!!!

I am a 26 Australian female - just moved to Singapore with my partner as he got a great job opportunity over here. The thing is - i cant sit around the house all day - it would drive me insane!!! So im looking for a job of my own!

I am getting my work pass in 2 weeks, so i am out on the hunt for a job!

I have worked in fashion retail in Australia and would love to work in the same field here - if its at all possible!!

Anyone know of any websites for retail jobs here or ANYTHING that might be able to help me - i know its hard to get a job over here but i would just like to have a look!

Thanks! :D
Maybe Singapore should be called the "Sunburnt Country" instead of Australia....
I seem to be getting more "sunburnt" here then i did back home lol!

How, may I ask, are you getting a work pass without a job? This is not done here as the potential employer is the one who has to apply for the pass.

Or, are you talking about getting a Dependents Pass? This does NOT give you the right to work, but it my allow a later Letter Of Consent once you have found an employer.

Just a word to the wise. The work pass is only good for the current employer. Your new company will have to re-apply after you have cancelled you old one. There are no guarantees that this will happen so good luck as the new employer will have to show cause as to why a local either cannot be found or does not have the expertise. Of course if you can speak English & Mandarin both it will help.

Good luck.

Do you mean clothing? Or accessories ? Male or Female?

Anyway, check out The Straits Times Classifieds on Jobs and Appointments, especially on Saturdays . . .
