Only those for people who do some research on their own first before asking questions that lack any details. They do hire in all fields though, especially if you are Singaporean or PR

Oops

Post by Dannny » Tue, 27 Oct 2009 12:44 am

Guys... i've moved to singapore after studying and working for 4-5 yrs in UK
in marketing

I've been applying for jobs for the past 2 weeks. I've been told by the locals to go the international plaza where dozens of recruitments agents got their offices. I got shocked when I went there; coz none of them accepted my CV and said we do only for locals. Few of them r well known international recruitment companies. only a couple of them asked me to send a soft copy their email add.

Guys wht do u think abt the current job market for foreigners?

How about reading some recent posts in this forum? Nobody is going to regurgitate what was said for you. You might have wanted to read those posts before you moved from the UK actually.

I'm having the same problem. Ive been here for 3 weeks and have sent more than a hundred CVs. I even paid 50$ to one recruitment agency but Ive been turned down many times. The recruitment agency told me that there was this SG govt order to only accept SG locals or PRs at this time. I think Im gonna go home now and just come back next year, maybe. Ill stay connected to this forum though to see if there's any change. hopefully, somebody out there can give us some updates :D
