dependant visa

Post by taikoo » Fri, 23 Feb 2007 12:01 pm

Hi,

My nephew has been in Singapore for the past 4 years on a WorkPass. He got married recently and brought his bride to Singapore on Social Visit visa.

Is it true that a workpass holder cannot apply for a dependant visa?

Are there any other ways that he can obtain a dependant visa for his wife?

Any hint, info in this regard will be higly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

The short answer is no. If he is on a Work Permit definitely No. If he is on an "S" Pass possible provided earning more than S$2,500/mo.

Dear sms, thanks for providing the workpass overview.

I am wondering if his situation will improve in case he applies for a PR. Understand from him that his company is not ready to sign the employment form. Can the company refuse to sign the employment confirmation form?
