driving foreign vehicle in singapore

Sg PRs are not allowed to drive foreign registered vehicles.. but is there a same law for Employment Pass holders? Pls advice... cos ive been very confused with the different things people have told me...

Karishma, I did not understand your question. Did you have a Indian License before arriving in Singapore? If you have a International Driving Permit , and if your are a PR, employment pass holder, work permit hoder, you are allowed to drive/ride in Singapore with a valid insurance, vehicle registered in your name for the 1st year in Singapore. You can convert your Indian License to Singapore Driving License by taking Basic Theory Test. You can register for this test by visiting any of the Driving schools near your neighbourhood.

well my situation is slightly different here...
i have a malaysian driving license, and ideally i'd be able to drive in my msian car into sg provided i follow certain laws by the LTA. However, a msian who is sg PR isnt allowed to drive in msian car at all (due to obvious reasons), i am not a PR as yet, only a EP holder, and would love to drive my car in once in a while...

Karishma, quite strange to know this, but there is a solution to this. You get married to a Singaporean and your problem is solved .....

I am just joking. A Malaysian or a Malaysian Singapore PR can still drive a car in Spore provided it is a Singapore registered car.

, but even then cars cost quite a lot in singapore... and parking cost a bomb...

koi nahin ji apna license is nonsense ko de do.. uspe apni photu chipka ke color photucopy nikal ke lamination kara doonga. jugaad..he he ha ha..
