hi,

actually why isn't there much 'real' reviews' coming back with regards to the whitening jab or has everyone had great experiences???

i've gone to ever health to look for doc wong ming at their hougang clinic and signed a 1k package. with that package you're able to do any treatments they have so you're not restricted to only one kinda treatment with the package. find it quite good actually....

my first and second IPL on the arms and vit-c jabs were ok. skin tone even out and got better. no more dry skin but of course.... no sign of fairness.
(probably cos i'm dark to begin with)
since it works on my arm well for IPL, i decided to try it on my face. i've asked around and also the doc wong ming if i would get burnt or any red marks on my face if i do IPL on my face, but my friends and also the doctor says won't have...... but during the IPL i had a v painful burn that ended up with a burnt mark on my face!!!!!!
it's nearing one week and it's still on my face!!
yes people - dr wong ming herself did the IPL and i got burnt!!!! and NO - IPL doesn't leave any scar/burn/red marks!!

ok - i went back the next day and she said the burn was superficial. well, she better own up to her mistake and get my face cleared! my face didnt have any scar b4 this IPL! so yes, i went back the next day and she gave a vit-c jab as she said vit-c will help in curing the scar faster.
the weird thing is i'm not sure if she injured my nerve or what she did during/before the injection, but the area where she did the vit-c jab is bruised!!! i would realllly share the picture of the bruise but i don't think i can attach pics.... it's like a 3cm blue-black on my arm! goodness!
even my BCG wasn't that bad!

ok, seriously, i hve had 3 vit-c jabs t that clinic but that was the worse! i relly dunno what went wrong but a doctor that could allow such things or mistakes to happen is really making me doubt many things!

i really just hope the next IPL or whitening jab will be ok as i still have balance there... mybe i'd go to another clinic after my package finishes.

BUT........ she better clear my face first or i'll really start complaining to everywhere! *sigh*

Don't think docs will inject the vials for you. Because I thought of buying Botox from Thailand (which is cheaper) and get local docs to inject, but 2 clinics I checked with said its not possible..

Anyway, heard that she goes to a certified nurse, but declined to reveal the nurse's details until you buy from her. She imports and resell the vials.

A word of caution, do be wary if you decide to DIY the jabs because if anything goes wrong, the seller and the so called certified nurse may not be able to handle complications in a timely manner as a trained doc.

Also, the source of these vials will not be revealed to you, lest you import yourself. So you do not know how authentic the vials are.

Illegal skin-whitener could kill, Philippines warns
Source
Illegal injections of a cancer-treating chemical pose a risk of death to legions of Filipinos who use them to try to whiten their skin, health authorities warned Tuesday.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspects the drug glutathione is being injected in high doses as a skin-whitener, but said it can cause serious conditions including kidney failure and blood poisoning.

It has issued advice against taking regular injections of the chemical -- approved only for treating cancer -- because the government suspects licensed skin doctors are among its purveyors, said spokeswoman Jesusa Joyce Cirunay.

"We have been getting reports that they are being administered by people who have experience in injecting medicines," Cirunay told AFP.

She said the agency had monitored many cases of glutathione use resulting in ailments, but gave no figures.

The agency said that claims had been made that glutathione whitened the skin by deactivating the enzyme tyrosinase, which helps produce melanin, the pigment that gives human skin its colour.

But these claims have been widely disputed, the agency said.

It warned that repeated injections of the drug could lead to kidney failure, blood poisoning and toxic epidermal necrolysis, in which a large portion of the skin peels off, exposing the human body to many infections.

"The alarming increase in the unapproved use of glutathione administered intravenously as a skin-whitening agent at very high doses is unsafe and may result in serious consequences to the health of users," its advisory said.

The government is gathering evidence that could lead to prosecutions, Cirunay said without giving details.

Skin-whitening treatments and products including soaps, lotions and deodorants are popular in the Philippines and other Asian countries.
