SIA Recruitment - Exceptional case?

Post by Jesey » Wed, 14 Feb 2007 11:31 pm

Hi to all,

I'm really curious about the requirement for SIA recruitment.. It stated there:

At least 2 GCE ‘A’-level credits and 2 ‘O’-level credits including General Paper in the GCE ‘A’-level examination; or a Diploma from a local Polytechnic.
(Those with at least 5 GCE ‘O’-level credits, including English, and relevant working experience may also apply).

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to speak foreign languages or are experienced in customer service.

However cases like candidate who only posses an 'N' and a private Diploma without 'O' Level.. but still with relevant experience, say maybe couple of years of experience working in e hosptiality field or an international air carrier..

Will SIA consider candidates with these citieria or strictly stick to the guidelines :o ? I have heard some cases were given an exceptional approval (provided u passed thru all rounds of interview), so i would like to ask does anybody know of such cases like that, how did they pass the requirement, through referral? internal transfer?

Greatly apprec for any respond.

The logical thing to do is go by what the requirements posted on the website, if you don't meet the requirments then that is where you need to concentrate your efforts. Take no notice of what you hear, the truth is often something quite different and what people don't want to hear.

You can also try contacting SIA. Thats the only way you are going to get your query clarified. They take about 2 days to get back to you.

It's sad to hear that Singapore Airline only hire someone who is smart from the book.
