It is the same situation in Hong Kong....... prices are cheaper in town than the airport but there is no Sales Tax or GST there.

I generally think Duty Free out here is cheaper than retail in Europe, simply given the taxes in Europe but it doesn't make too much sense for those of us that live out here already.

I'm in Manila this week and maybe you can PM me the model you want and i can find out the price before you hit Changi?

I'm a newbie here so can't pm you ScoobyDoes, but if you pass a camera shop i'd be very grateful for your help. I'd like the price for either a Canon 350d or Canon 400d
thanks a lot for the offer

i guess sim lim is the cheapest already but i think they tend to push up the price if you are an expat/angmoh customer. Other than that, the price in the shops at the airport are pretty ex too...no diff from outside imo.

Oh yeah never go buy anything at Lucky Plaza...its a butcher place.

Electronics in Changi are horrendously expensive!

Canon 350D is very very hard to find brand new since it's phased out. That being said, i've seen an unopened kit on sale for 950 SGD.

The 400D kit is about 1500-1550 SGD.
