Hi
Singapore has a higher cost of living than India but, assuming that you are being offered a reasonable salary in local terms, it can be quite cheap to live here. A significant number of Indian ex-pats live and work here. Most integrate into the local community rather than live in the high-end accommodation favoured by the Western ex-pats. Thus, you should be looking for HDB rental flats either close to where you will be working or close enough to a relevant bus route or the MRT system so that you can communte without difficulty. You will find compatible food and relevant places of worship in most areas
As to medical expenses, I use the local Poly Clinics which are relatively inexpensive and provide a good standard of care. Although the level of payments made by foreign talent is about to be increased in the clinics and public hospitals, your salary should cover you for all routine matters. Obviously, a major illness requiring extensive treatment will be expensive no matter where you are.
