SQ crews from out of spore and msia, who are still waiting

Post by niennaanarion » Thu, 01 Feb 2007 1:38 am

hey..

i got my interview on early sept.. and got the job at the mid of sept.
1st batch went already on the 18th jan (batch 902) 9 girls, 1 rejected it.. (hivy and melda.. cant wait to hear stories from u!!!!!!!)
2nd batch went today 31st jan (batch 904) 1 girl only.
because the rest of us are still waiting for our S pass.
it has been 5 months already.. and u know how irritating this waiting is for us..

how long have u guys been waiting and state when ur interview was.. share ur stories

cuz sporeans and msians are a lot faster in commencing their training.. they dotn have to wait that long.. what would be the problem?is it true that the ministry of men power is slow?hehehe

not exactly, i'm still waiting. Officially I've handed in my documents almost two months ago, but have waited for about 3 months since the medical check up. As I know only about 12 people have gone down to start their training as of this date and the rest of us are still waiting for a work pass. I share the same situation as you!
And bcos we will be notified approx a month before the training so I guess we wont be attending a training batch anytime soon ey?

3 months, 2 months younger than me hehehe..

well, not exactly 1 month.. for people who has to put in 1 month notice period yes they might call u 1 month in advance.. but for people like me who is a freelance.. they might let us know in a week or maybe less. cuz 1 girl left for training batch 904 on 31st Jan and she got noticed a week before the departure.. and she got no job.. so it was ok for her.

there's a batch on the 15th.. hopefully some of us has got our s pass out.. and hopefully u will too.. and for simon too.. shout out for simon..!

Waiting.....and still waiting.....

Post by bbkangaroo » Sat, 03 Feb 2007 7:00 pm

Hi all,

I attended the final interview plus medical check in early Oct '06. It's been 4 months already. Some of my friends have gone for training since Jan '07 in batch 900. I attempted to call SIA several times and they will always give me the same reply, that my application is still under "PROCESS" :???: .

Has anyone else tried to call SIA? There seem to be so many of us still waiting for a training date. However, interviews are still being conducted from time to time in Singapore and Malaysia. The last interview was just conducted in KL last week and I wonder how long will these new recruits be asked to wait.

If there is a problem with our application, why can't they just be honest with us and tell us the real reason rather than letting us wait for so long.

Really really frustrated.

hmmm... yeap, i attempted to call once, that is what they told me, and they cannot rush for the work permit if i'm not mistaken. I dont know if we might get a chance of being rejected as well? I really can't tell man...

like nienna said, she's also been waiting for about 5 months and still no reply yet! i think only about 12 ppl has gone down since then? as i know...

the work permit is granted by the immigrations, so all you guys can do is wait.. cos if you`re rejected by the immigrations, SIA can`t hire you too. and if they take a long time to go through it, there`s nothing SIA can do too. so i guess all you can do now is to wait. i hope you guys get good news soon!

the person is right, SIA`s 6000+ strong cabin crew is definitely inadequate, especially with the A380s arriving at the end of the year. cabin crew turnover rate is extremely high for any airline, so i don`t think you need to worry much too! all the best and i hope you get good news soon! see you guys in singapore soooooon! :D

SQ has inadequate crew due to high turnover.....so now they are doing recruitment very often....while MAS has adequate crew..in fact they have more than enough....thats why they are letting some go...not as in retrenching anyway......

yeap i think so as well, my friend who is working for MAS was given three weeks leave last two months! not only that, she gets to rest for quite sometime between flights in a month!
they're not recruiting at the moment or anytime soon thats for sure!
