Why are most apartments in Singapore furnished?

Hi - I was looking on this site for apts and it seems that most apartments are fully or partially furnished. Why is this so? Is it hard to get an apartment without furniture?

Also, how is the furniture quality? Cheap stuff or ok stuff if you're looking at say $S3-$3.5 range?

Another q. - do apartments have storage space for keeping stuff like TV boxes or other storage stuff?

partial usually means appliances, fully is not necessarily full
