restaurant recommendations for first date please

Post by carrie » Sun, 22 Aug 2004 8:32 pm

Hi all, need some recommendations.. its a sort of date.. a first, we havent actually met each other..i read in one of the postings here and will check out Duo. The first thing that came to mind for me was Indo Chine- i gather the waterloo st one is no longer there, is the one at Empress Place conducive for a first date? It doesnt have to be a 'romantic' place, just a good ambience with enough privacy and no loud blaring music. No need for private rooms etc but just good seating etc

That previous posting has recommendations for restaurants in hotels but i was thinking to stay away from the hotel environment...

Thanks in advance

IndoChine at Empress Place is excellent in almost all sense of the word... but I'd still opt for Halia in the Botanical Gardens for a romantic date. (A bit pricier than IndoChine though, and IC's not exactly cheap either...)
