Hi
I am a Scottish Primary School teacher hoping to find work. I am going to be in Singapore for 3 years because of my partner's work. As we are not married, is there any way i can find work? I have a Social Pass at the moment.

Hi,

It should be fairly easy as you are qualified and there seem to be a demand for it. I know several british teachers who found positions quickly. I would suggest you send your cv to all the International Schools here, they will provide you with an employment pass. Enrichment centers are another option, but the hours aren't ideal, after school and weekends.

Thanks for the reply. Think i'll start updating my CV! Do you know if it would be easy to get part-time work or substitute work as I'm not sure if I want to work full time?

Cheers

You're qualified, so there shoudln't be a problem. I suggest you visit the schools that you may be interested in or live near. Take your CV, tell them you'll here visiting a friend(I wouldn't mention boyfriend), even mention you're heading back tomorrow or something) I would also suggest that you don't sign a contract as a local but as an expat. You will then receive a housing allowance and possibly a yearly trip home. As a local you'll get nothing, no benefits. Think about it at least.
