Hi, has anyone attended any good playgroup for parent & child? my son is 20 months old and I would like to go with him for about 1.5 hour twice a week program. Any recommendation is highly appreciated! We're staying near to Newton/Novena area. Thanks very much!

Hi there, from what I know ..even if its a playgroup, you can only sit in with your child for the first 2-3 times. After that, the school usually wants the child to mix with other children.
Always have a smile on that face!

Most playgroups for kids this age are mom-accompanied programs. My son goes to Busy Buddies twice a week at UE Square and totally loves it. I think its the best toddler programme I have seen in Singapore. They do a bit of everything - singing, dancing, storytelling, a bit of arts, introduction to letters, rhymes, life skills etc. Their website is www.busybuddies.com.sg If you want just pure physical fun, consider JWT Kids again at UE Square. I take him there once a week and he has a blast! Another good place is Growing Up Gifted at United Square. Good programme but their rooms are too small and my son refused to be locked in a small place.

Hope this helps.

I have to mention two more programmes or my post will be incomplete. There is Jula Gabriels at Evans Road/ Orchard Road. A bit commercial but nevertheless good. And there is Rhythm n' Me at UE Square thats a music class for toddlers. U can also check out Gymboree at Tanglin Mall. But they are again motor skills focussed.

All these programmes are adult accompanied. So u or any other care giver can sit along with your toddler.

Another one has just opened at Great World City - My Gym. Looks good although I haven't been to any classes. Like the others it is quite expensive though! I take mine to Busy Buddies and he loves it - agree that it's the best we have tried.

Thanks very much for your response!

I will definitley check out Busy Buddies. I have actually attended a trial class at GUG yesterday. Like what mothbhai said, the programme is quite good, but the room is too small for 12 kids + 12 parents/caregivers. My 20 months old was trying to leave the room after an hour :P
