The Registrar of Societies of Singapore has formally approved Sri Narayani Society as a Registered Society. We look forward to your support to start this society and grow it along the lines that Amma has established.. To launch the society we have scheduled a Voluntary Blood Donation Drive on Saturday Jan-20, 2007.

This mail has been sent only to some of you - whose e-mail IDs are known to me. I seek your support to ensure this message is passed on to your familes and friends. Please help to make this a resounding success.

I've attached some documents pertaining to blood donation. It'll be good to inform potential donors about the eligibility criteria so they would not make a wasted trip to the Bloodbank. All donors are to bring along their NRIC, (passport or work permit for Non-Singaporeans) or their blood donation card. The blood stock levels are low and it'll be great if we can make a significant contribution to the blood bank.

Please do send me an SMS (97303861) or e-mail (srinirao@singnet.com.sg) to confirm your participation. we would also need some volunteers to assist in the administration from the society.

I had some queries about chai -biskut being served after blood donation..... .......well i dont know about that(if u ask me- it's Tea, Coffe or Me)....better,u will have to ask gupt

anyways...i was reading the book "why men have nipples" and i found something of relevance , so i am sharing it here.


WHY ARE YOU SERVED JUICE AND COOKIES
AFTER YOU DONATE BLOOD?

There is no solid medical reason for juice and cookies after blood donation. The idea is that this little snack will help to replenish your fluids and raise your blood sugar. But donating blood shouldn’t really affect your blood sugar, and the small amount of juice that you drink probably has no significant effect on your fluid status. The best use of this snack is to allow you to rest and adjust before you go on your way after doing your civic duty.
Perhaps other food combinations could attract more blood donors:

1. For the upper-crust crowd: champagne and foie gras.
2. For the hipster: Vitamin Water and a PowerBar.
3. For the Atkins crowd: diet soda and a steak.
4. For the hip-hop gangster: a forty and some fried wings.
