ISPs in Singapore

Post by pstanley » Fri, 12 Jan 2007 7:44 pm

Hi all,

Forgive me if someone has asked this before, I'm a bit of a newbie.

What are the ISPs in Singapore? I'm interested in the subscription costs and speeds (spec'd and actual speeds and reliability). Websites for all the ISPs would be great.

Thanks

Thanks!

Do you have any experience of this?: http://www.starhub.com/online/maxonline/index.html
(100mbps through starhub cable modem). Also what are the connections generally like? reliable? I have used so called broadband in Malaysia a couple of times before and I was not impressed.

In the UK most broadband users are using around 1-2mbps - in London quite a few people are using 8-16mbps, with some up to 24mbps on ADSL2 (but from what I have heard you have to be right outside the exchange to get those sorts of speeds). Most people pay £15-20 a month (S$45-60).

I am a PacNet 1500 user and have been with PacNet since 28.8 dial-up days. Don't have any feedback on the others but most are with Singtel or Starhub Cable. (PacNet now has cable at 6500 but I've not yet upgraded.) Some of the other here will hopefully fill you in.

Connection here are much better than in Malaysia.
