Booted Out AGAIN?!?!?

Post by j0Yce » Mon, 08 Jan 2007 11:31 pm

This thread is for all the inspiring gals who wish to becm FA however are being seized of the chance to do so... And I am one of them... :?

Tried Silkair, SIA, Emirates.. however gt booted out @ the intro round.. Din even make it to the uniform fitting.. Great disappointment.. Though nt supermodel-looking.. but i guess i still pleasant looking.. (Not born with a shocking face) Plus a healthy BMI and the required education qualifications.. I realli wonder wat they are looking for... Wat X-factor they are looking for..

Most frens tot i sure get in.. yet i cm back wif negative results... Even SIA frens tot is high chance.. yet when infront of those interviewers becm NO CHANCE.. Haiz... :???:

Any gals wan2 share ur opinions of this entire drama??

It is indeed painful to go thru such long waiting periods and then only to get axed out when you have no clue why and how come.

but you know Look on the bright side Like I do. we are ultimately applying to the BEST airline in the world, which explains the Uncertainty of getting in eventually. To me it is THE BEST airline ever and it has made the steps a tad too easy for us as applicants. I guess we really have to be grateful and careful in every thing we do at the interview. Some applicants just appear with the carefree attitude I notice, not even bringing their certs on the day itself. Some dont even dressed for the occasion. I feel they dont deserve the chance to be interviewed as there is no Respect for the organisation they are applying to and in my opinion SIA interviewers should axe them out at that point in time already. It shows their attitudfe and character..........but then you see, they are still given a 2nd look.

If you are really keen and you reallyyyyyyyyy want this job, PLS keep trying.. It is indeed a waste of time to queue and go thru the rounds and NOT know why you were eliminated but it makes us Appreciate and wonder and scrutinize everything more closely rather than to take the moment for granted.

Lets keep workijng towards the goal so when we finally get thru, we will really appreciate the workplace, the job and everything in SIA.

Let me give you this ONE assurance which is you WILL surely get thru but you must reflect on what went wrong and correct it before you actually do get thru. Actually it isnt HARD To correct that flaw, you just have to be very attentive I guess, thats all. It is indeed Mysterious but fun!!

cheers..........

Joyce,
As far as I can make out from your post you get slung out at the introduction. You need to concentrate on your presentation skills a guide for which can be found in 'Key Facts' cards, in addition you can find a good deal of material on the web using google or other search engines.

corines, i totally agree with you!

attentiveness, doing whatever you can in preparations, try your best. the rest, it`s up to the interviewers. but on our part, we just have got to try to make ourselves the perfect candidate.

don`t give up if you`re serious about it. if you get it at the end of the day, you`ll truly appreciate it :)

Hi jOYce, same sentiments exactly. Read this link http://www.singaporeexpats.com/forum/ft ... 9-495.html

You could consider professional help if you're through with all the help from books and website articles. Don't count on luck and waste precious opportunities that won't come by often.

I understand your disappointment.

To get through round 1, perhaps you can refer to my post in the other thread for 6-7 SIA recruitment. Bear in mind that these interviews are very, very subjective.

I can't be as encouraging and optimistic like corines, I don't know how, but I'd say, perhaps just try to snap out of the disappointment asap and work on it. Am trying too :( and hoping to meet up soon with a girl who is in the same situation as me, puzzled at always getting eliminated in the kebaya round, to help each other see what is the serious flaw that is keeping them from taking us. I mean, if there is nothing wrong with us we would have been through like the rest. I suspect it could be my posture. So try to recall how the successful candidates performed. If unfortunately it turns out to be something very inherent that cannot be changed, like bent backbone (yes.), then just tell ourselves to stop crying and move on :(

All the best girl...

yeahh girls. but no matter what, be optimistic! try again and improve yourself. determination will take you as far as you want to go. there`s only these much you could do yourself, the rest is up to the interviewers. if you`re really serious about this, don`t give up till the fat lady sings!
