Wales v Ireland 6N - 4th Feb

Post by a man called hors » Mon, 08 Jan 2007 9:59 pm

Hi,

I am arriving in Singapore on 2nd Feb. I would love to watch the game with good atmosphere and hopefully new friends. I'm Welsh (I "play" (when not injured/dropped) for London Welsh Occies at the moment) but love watching rugby with any nationality - just as long as they're keen and sporting. I am not expecting an emphatic Welsh win but you never know, eh?

Any ideas on where to go, and/or people meeting up for the game?

Although they haven't yet announced it I would be very surprised if Muddy Murphy's at Orchard Parade is not showing all the 6 Nations matches except those that are now postponed to evening kick offs.

Hi there!

During the autumn internationals my Welsh hubby and I found Father Flanagans at Chijmes to be a good place to watch rugby. It was never too busy and they had a projector so screen size wasn't a problem.

We're holding our breaths at the moment to find out which games they're showing and will any of them be live (for autumn internationals only England v. All Blacks was live). The current TV schedule doesn't run quite that far into the future but you can check the situation here http://www.espnstar.com/tvtimes/tvtimes_index.jsp up to two weeks before the game.

Brilliant - thanks for these tips. I'll check the schedules in a couple of weeks.

Probably worth checking out Brewerkz too, my favourite place for a decent beer as they have their own micro-brewery, smaller screens but quite a few of them. Haven't actually watched a game there though since England lost the footy Brazil in the World Cup quarters so not sure how crowded it gets. I believe they sponsor a rugger team so may be worth a look for you.
