Good PDF printer driver needed

Post by Alexandra20 » Sun, 07 Jan 2007 4:28 am

Hello,

I need a software tool for Windows that works as a PDF printer driver, I mean to stay among the real printers and to create PDF files from what I print to it ( must work with Excel, PowerPoint ).. I tried a few free ones but they all have some nags or annoying limitations, a commercial product would be acceptable as long as is not very expensive ( under $100 )... Any suggestions?

pdf redirect, I think was the one I used a year back. That works with any application to create pdf's - as long as there's a print button, you can make a pdf.

it's also freeware

I have been using Cute PDF for some time, and it works properly. It's free

I'm with CutePDF as well.

There is another called PrimoPDF but requires also the installation of a secondary translator so better to avoid this one just for ease.

Does CutePDF allow you to save say word files as a pdf, as now I see lots of company's requiring pdf instead of word format.

Thanks

Fletcher

Basically these things just act as a printer so if you go into your Start/Printer and Faxes then you will find CutePDF (etc.) in there as a printer in addition od any real printer sich as Canon, Epson etc. so ANY application that has a print function can "save" files as pdf simply by printing to a pdf........if that makes sense.

You just need to select the pdf printer when you reach the print dialogue box.
