Spam

Post by greenrover » Thu, 28 Dec 2006 12:02 pm

There seems to have been a sudden incidence of spam, or rogue posts from professional advertisers, of late.

Is this due to someone being away or bars being removed over the holidays?

Must say it had been fine for a long time and I hope this can be addressed soon.

Otherwise it will be worse than my daily junk email!

We have been, and currently are, in discussions about this problem for 2 weeks in our Moderators Forum to figure out a set of guidelines/criteria. Due to that, I have backed off my normally stringent criteria as some of the Mods find that I tend to be heavyhanded in my efforts to keep the board uncluttered. :(

A sticky thread is forthcoming as soon as it is finalized.

greenrover, I appreciate your concern as it is also a big concern of mine as well.
