Delo v Singapurju

Postby denar » Sat, 06 Nov 2010 6:49 am

Pozdravljeni!
Jaz sem bil v Singapurju dvakrat, 2007 in 2008 in sem bil izredno zadovoljen.
Res me zanima.
Upam, da cimprej odgovorite.

Borut

Zivio,

Vidim tvoje sporocilo in ti kar takoj odgovarjam, zelo zanimivo.

Lp,
Borut

Hvala za cestitke! Da, NUS je National Univesity of Singapore.

Zivio,

No, kar sporoci, ko sprejmes odlocitev.

As this IS an English language Forum, we would appreciate it if you can post in English. What language you converse in via PM is up to you. As this is an open board, we try to keep open to all. We would appreciate your courtesy. Thanking you in advance.

Borut,
If I were you and I really wanted to find job in Singapore (or any other place as a matter of fact).
- I would spend way too much time on the net and write (email) to any company I could find (lets say in Singapore) to ask if they are hiring someone for (translation/economy stuff, you will have to be more specific about the field) attach CV (with at least two references, perhaps even a cover letter)
- write to schools about possibility to teach a language (this might not be that easy as I could easily image them requiring some certificates)

Basically you need to be active (and also lucky of course). If nothing turns out then perhaps things were not meant to be but at least you tried/did everything possible.

Hi Tinka,

When I was last there in 2008, then I started to send many applications, for different job areas but the ice was not broke. I subscribed to some job portals like jobsdb.com, careerjet, monster, too, and I get jobs into my inbox still.
But by force cannot go through, I only send now if I encounter a potentially suitable job.
I also say it is no time to focus only on Singapore, if there isn't breakthrough, need to turn to other destinations. But you are right, I never wrote to schools, it might work, but no time for more specific search.

When you are in Singapore, let me know.

Hi Tinka,

Seems PM are not possible yet. How many posts are necessary?

I want to ask you, have you made final decision to go to Singapore? I saw your thread about housing, I also searched a bit for curiosity if I go there and initially stay 1-2 months, and see two acquaintances from last time.
Even sharing rooms are so expensive, 300-500 Eur a month, of course also more. Unbelievable how expensive.

Last time you gave some contacts, may be useful. You can mention me to those contacts, yes, it can only be positive.

Regards,
Borut
