Anyone here staying in Tampines? Or places near to Tampines? Just try looking more friends in this area.

Hi,

I will be relocated in Feb 2007 and the company I work with will move to Tampines in May. I am trying to rent a condo there. Do you find any condos good?

I have been staying in Loyang just past Pasir Ris and Tampines for the last 3 years. Having moved out here from Newton of course the access to bright lights is less convenient but I find that the more spacious condos and access to parks more than makes up for it.

There is a good selection of condos available in Tampines and the surrounding area, you don't say where exactly you will be working but I don't expect you will find travelling between work and home a problem. I'm not sure about rents as I am now a mortgage slave but there are no premiums or special circumstances pushing the area higher than anywhere else in Tampines. Loyang is popular with flight crew and specialist engineers and technicians for the aircraft and marine industries so rents are slightly higher and availability slightly tighter but not to any huge degree.

You can get most of what you need at Tampines Mall and Century Square although trips into town will be needed for more specialist expatriate needs, Christmas crackers for instance to give a festive example.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion
