Anyone tried that? Is it really nice, free, fully sponsored by the government?

Yes, but you need to register with those companies using your full NRIC name and all your particulars to prevent network misuse.

Re: Free Wireless@SG
Actually, the only thing you need is a SIM card from anywhere in the world that can be used to receive the activation code...anti_spy999 wrote:Yes, but you need to register with those companies using your full NRIC name and all your particulars to prevent network misuse.youdunsay wrote:Anyone tried that? Can somebody just simply tell me where to register?
I was in SG last week to prepare my relocation but had no idea how to get information on registering. I know i can get a code via SMS to my overseas mobile but there was nothing tell me what i had to do to get it?
Can somebody elighten me?
I was sitting in my hotel with a bundle of wireless networks available but none would work. They were either hotel or businesses yet i was in Robertson Quay so i suppose within the wireless area.

I hope they register non residents too.

Well the point was i was in a hotel in SG a week or two ago looking for the wireless connection i had heard of. Currently i am in our Malaysia office but relocate today to SG. If i had known beforehand of the need to register before going out looking for wireless then it would have been fine but the way it was initially reported was that anybody could just get a user ID via SMS, even foreigners / tourists.Splatted wrote:how are you posting to this forum if you don't have an internet connection?ScoobyDoes wrote:

This would then give a connection.
Obviously now that i know, it's not difficult, just different from the way i read it in the papers.
