Hi guys,
Aside from the Mental Health Institute (woodbridge) and SGH, which are good places to go see a psychologist/therapist for depression? Any good individuals to recommend?
Sleeping disorder is another one I'd like to know about (partially out of morbid curiosity really). Though not entirely related to the above... anyone has gotten their sleep pattern monitored before? (the ones where they plug you to a machine while you sleep) It seems quite expensive but would be interesting to give it a go though...

you can try Adam Road Hospital. They specialise in mental health issues like depression, sleep disorders, eating disorders etc. and also because they are a private institution, your records will not be linked to your ID number, or PR numbers or stuff like that. can give it a try. Good luck!

My 2cents worth......Try Psycho-therapy! It is cheaper! As you know, medication ain't the cure for these disorders. It is because we are mentally too stressed out that the mind goes into overtime. Psycho-therapy can find the root of the problem and thus be able to cure you!
I was a non-believer till my friend performed hypno-therapy on it. It made me feel much much better!

There is a dedicated Sleep Study Centre here in Singapore run by EnT specialists - I guess its similar to the setup in Melbourne.
Back home, they get u to sleep in their study bedroom for a day and monitor your heart rate/brain waves etc... cost about $30 (after medicare at the St Vincents centre).. then the sleep specialist doctor will recommend u try one of their products to help u sleep better to prevent snoring
Its called Sleep apnea. U see the problem is that when we sleep- the airpassages relaxes and gets restricted- causing the snoring- if left untreated it leads to all kinds of problems including heart disease.
I bought one of the device sets- but it takes a very long time to get used to it. Trouble is that when I came here to Spore- I left my set at home in Melbourne.... argh...

I don't know the cost here- but in Melbourne its around $30 at St Vincents.
The one at Cedar Court Sleep Study Centre costs more $300+.
But you only need to go once for the checkup- then a second time to trial the sleep apnear prevention device...
then a possible third time if you want.
U should get it done- esp if u snore heavily. Check it up - sleep apnea.

Hi
You can try hypnotherapy for your sleeping problems. If you need a recommendation, you can send an email to
[email protected] to enquire.
