Is there a way to get maid service without actually having a live in maid?

Id like someone to come in 2-4 hours a week and just do the basic cleaning and some ironing...

is there a way to 'rent out' someone's existing maid or get this type of service legally??

You can't legally rent out somebody's maid, but there are plenty of Singaporeans who do this kind of thing. Rates generally start from S$10/hour, and the best way is ask around with your friends/colleagues -- this way you'll get someone reliable and can avoid agency fees.
