Paypal and money before delivery is the normal way to go for small items.

Always money first, paypal is pretty good, although be careful, with the phishing, many scam letters, will try to get you to insert your security name and passwords, just delete them, infact don't even open them, unless you are expecting contact. Always log into your account from another browser, inserting the paypal address yourself.

I have also had scams on ebay, but they are pretty easy to see, if you are cautious, just inform ebay, you appear to have a scammer bidding. they normally try and contact you to do a deal outside of ebay.

Ebay is fine, providing you read and understand their extensive guideline.

Always use Paypal. It takes a while to set up and verify your details but it is by far the most reliable way. Avoid things like Western Union like the plague.

Never ship goods until full payment is recieved including shipping charges.
What i do is charge slightly more than estimate for shipping ( it can be difficult to calculate the exact amount until you actually ship) then give them a refund ( free service from paypal) when the exact cost is known.

There are charges for paypal ( for the seller) but these are outweighed by the reliability and security they offer.

Good luck
