Haha, was just like you and still am. Well if there are any other questions just shoot and I'll answer them if I can :)

They better be generous, can't imagine 4 month's without pay =.=" especially when you are already working. From what I gather, SIA is way generous as compared to my national carrier so I ain't got nothing to complain about and I have housing allowance on top of that I guess I'll survive.. ;)

I myself am waiting.. yeah hate this part too!

The basic salary is $1250 for diploma/A-levels holders and $1350 for graduates. N the allowances would average up to about $2,300 per month. :) Have fun at the training!

Cheers!
Hey there,

Hows things? Btw, its $1200 for non-grads. :)

Hero83,

If you do the math, it adds up to about the same $1200(Basic)+$2300(Allowances) . From what I was told, this is the minimum.
Hi! Things are fine over here. Wat bout u? Still waiting patiently for SIA to call u huh i guess? :)

Oh by the way, from where did u hear that $3,500 is like the minimum wage? Coz i always tot it's gonna be $3,500 every month...wasnt aware of the good n bad months thing. Haha! Pls share ur thoughts on it...

Plus they give u housing allowance as well during training?? Dats pretty good man...how does it really work? Good to find out more too since i'm also M'sian  Thanks soooo much in advance!

Your minimum's your basic salary. Your allowances depends on how often you fly, and where you fly to, and if they're turn arounds or nightstops. There's no guarantee that you're going to be able to makeat least $2300 or any other amount out of the allowances.

No doubt the issue of monetary benefits are considered taboo but I believe those who are interested in this line would benefit from knowing the expected income they'll make, even more so for those coming from foreign countries as its quite a leap their taking. Well if it offended anyone I'm sorry ya ;)

Yeap patiently indeed :p

What I meant by minimum was you should at least expect to take back that amount if you don't take any leaves or mc's, it could be more thou :). Like what jencrs said, the allowances varies.

Yeah for us, housing allowances are provided during training but not anymore once we start flying :(

Actually your allowances vary with the sectors you're doing and I actually have a copy of that but it has or will be changed with the coming summer.

Not really a taboo as your basic is that much and your allowances are dependable on your flights. 8-)

Yeah, i don't think its a taboo to talk about money also.

Though Love makes the world go round,

MONEY makes the world survive...

Yup...i fully agree that these info would be helpful, esp to those from another country. Plus, who wouldn't look into the monetary aspect when looking for a job??? Well, just a thought :)

To Indcisive, thanks for ur info! With the housing allowance provided, i'm sure u r gonna survive and sail thru the 4 months easily. :D Remember to do some postings ya after they've called u. Hehe...
