I recently got invited for the preliminary interview for FA in KUL. I noticed that many malaysian girls got the invitation to attend on the 27th Jan. Any one is scheduled for Jan 28th interview?
good luck to those who are attending the interview on Jan 27th!!

Water confidence on 18th. 3 out of 10 got in and fortunately managed to sneak in but management interview should be the stumbling block again.
During my queue for CC, was asked if I was interested to apply for cadet pilot and thought that it wouldn't hurt, I went for it. Was grilled and grilled during the interview with various technical and general knowledge about aircrafts, and subsquently with a bit of lady luck, managed to get through for the 2nd interview. Heard from buddy previously that the interview and tests won't be easy and passing rate is extremely low for non flyers.
Was actually told not to go for CC first round interview after the cadet pilot interview but still went ahead and well, now if anyone knows if I'm able to go for both 2nd day interviews? Clash of interest within the same company and currently in a dilemma for this.

Hi M,
passing rate for non flyers isn't very low.. typically half of the 2nd round interviewees get through to the medical stage, and for every course of about 20, about 5 will have previous flying experience.
Anyway, go for the one that you are truly interested in, and not just try any one of it out of curiosity. The job scope of a cabin crew and tech crew are entirely different so think carefully

you wouldn't want to be stuck training for 2.5yrs for something you don't like.
And presuming you're female, you'd probably be assigned to join Silkair, so expect different operating patterns

Hi, so you're going for the swimming round? Which date did you choose?
Mine's on the 11th.
Was wondering what kind of swim wear is preferred ?
Will there be other rounds of individual interview?
People who knows, please advise.
Thank you very much.

It's my 4th time dying at the kebaya round, and i'm so tired.
As for attire, at least for SIA personally i assume safely that jeans and a presentable top will do. All the previous times I wore formal/semi-formal, got through round 1 and this time I somewhat boldly wore denim jeans and a blouse, got through round 1 too. Round 1 is really about how you present yourself during your self-intro. Speak clearly, not too fast, and very fluently. All these assuming you already can speak proper English. Smile. Do not "stone" and look bored when the other 9 ladies are doing their introduction. Look at them and look interested, the recruiters are observing you too (although at times they may have heads bent down scribbling notes). Be humble in your introduction.
Many girls go through all 3 rounds in denim, chunky earrings, party heels, funky hairstyle. Always will have some tall, model-looking ladies who are also confident and speak good English, getting booted after kebaya round. We all just shrug.

Hey,
Thanks. Just worried about the 6 months ground course where you have to clear about 17 modules and of course, the bond isn't cheap at 250k for 7 years bond.
Definitely being tech crew offers better career prospect, not to mention better remuneration but I'm just worried about the learning curve. Haven't got the experience in that field, therefore it's a total new galaxy to me.
Won't be joining Silkair cause I'm male. Thanks for your advice anyway. Just need to know if I'm able to attend for both because I would rather have more open choices then opting for 1 which I might just failed at it.

Chin up and go for it again. Lady luck probably wasn't shining on you so just don't give up till the fat lady sings.

Not too sure about the ladies, but probably in addition to the water confidence test, a Psychometric test and a skin check are in line on that day.
Any swimming gear is fine but I guess one piece would be more appropriate.

I chose to take it on the 16th. I'm not sure abt the swim wear that is preferred. the one i have is a one-piece with flowery pattern. haha. think i'm gonna buy a one-piece black color swimsuit this weekend. i'm not sure if goggles are needed. but according to the lady i asked that day she told us to bring. i was thinking of what to wear on that day, can we wear something casual? what do u think?
from what i know, there will be another round of interview after the water confidence test. a panel interview. not sure of what is it gonna be like also.

For what it's worth you may have done better to heed advice, you may be making somebody do some unnecessary work or creating some confusion amongst the recruitment staff.

i was so happy as i got thru round 1 but then i made it thru until kebaya round and got booted out. i think it was my skin... had some blemishes and freckles due to too much sun recently.... i also just recovered from being sick the day before and had really really bad eyebags... so that could be it. cos the lady inspecting my face was staring at me intently. hahaha
oh well doesnt matter at least i know and work on it.. will be back next time round with a better chance.. just gotta have the right attiude and at least i got thru to this round... its a great experience... keep trying dont give up you hear gals!!!!!!!!!

I went today. They did not do the height test when we were queuing up to hand in our application form. Got through to the second round - kebaya fitting. Well the kebayas given to us were really small. The skirt fits but the blouse did not. I noticed that those of us who are more well-endowed were at a disadvantage because we could not fit into the blouse. As for myself, I managed to squeeze into a kebaya, but there were some who were not so lucky. Height and weight testing was done only after the kebaya fitting if you make it through to the next round. Skin checks done only during kebaya fitting.
Certs and ICs were checked before kebaya fitting for those who passed the introduction round. Basically we only needed to show proof of our highest educational certs.
There were some ladies who wore jeans and denim skirts, even spaghetti strap tops who made it to kebaya fitting.
height testing when lining up is only done for those who are on the border. if you`re obviously over 1.58m, you don`t have to be tested.
congrats!

hey tenshi,
like to ask u abt the kebaya fitting. The kebaya is given to you one or you can get to choose the size that you can fit into?
How big or small are those kebaya? I have big-boned. At least, i can have a better idea yea.
Thanks.

oooh yeahh! but they did tell me i`m too young and asked me to try again perhaps when i graduated from poly or something. i spoke to the lady in green. i don`t know who she is though. lol. i assume she`s from the HR.
she said there will be a recruitment exercise at the end of the year, every year, at singapore poly for graduating students.
so yeahh, i`ll be gearing up for the next interview.. heh. plan plan, let`s do a plan!
