My son had it and then in about 6 months it miraculously disappeared. I took him to several doctors, the main point there being he was tested to have higher sensitivity to allergies (cradle cap being one of the first indicators?) which can manifests itself in 3 possible ways, (1) is eczema, which he doesn't have but in new environments he tends to break out in a bad rash and needs time to adjust, he also from time to time needs to go on antihistamine and we have a bunch of creams as well. Once the rash was so bad his face was swollen then we needed a dose of steroids to counter it. I am planning to take him to an oesteopath as an alternative medicine trial to see if they can stimulate his normal immune response instead. (2) way this condition can manifest is thru asthma which my son does not have. The third I can't remember now!
I do remember one of the drs recommending some type of tar shampoo thing that smelled really toxic for his cradle cap which I did not use. My 2 cents... it will go latest by 6 months, don't worry!
