Banking in Ingapore

Hi

I'm moving to SG in Jan 07 and was wondering is there a bank who have a group that deals with expats. i would be needing, chq acc/credit card and possible car loan?

u can give this foreign bank a try like citibank, hsbc, standard charted

Opening accounts at local banks is not a problem, and you can get credit cards if you can prove you're legally employed (although you'll usually need to accumulate a few months of pay slips first).

I've got an account with the local bank, cheaper. POSB or DBS as its now known. Very easy mate.

have been seeing so many bank (and cc) adverts these days due to the holiday sales. not sure which one to go with! have heard from co-workers and others that UOB is not bad either - good checking rates. as for the process - would check with your preferred bank, but, i believe, all you need to bring is proof of residence in singapore (or your last residence; bring your billing statements just in case) and your passport.
