Buying a condo in Singapore

Post by techdev007 » Mon, 11 Dec 2006 2:06 pm

We are a French couple living in HK and moving to SG in January. We are not married but engaged in a long term relationship. My wife is having a new job from a SG company. She will have a Q1. As the boss of my EU company, I will apply for Social Entrepreneur Visa.

We wonder if we should not buy a condo instead a renting one.

Is that possible ? What are the requirements ?

Thanks for your answer.

Look for those where it says: Foreigners eligible.
Time will come....

Most of the condo in SG are open to foreigners. Depending where is ur office, or driving or not, u may want to chose one near the train station. If u are thinking and optimistic of the property market here, which i feel is booming, u may want to buy instead of renting. But again it all depends on the number of yrs u are staying.

This question has also been asked before in the past.

Why don't you rent first to see whether you like Singapore or not, get yourself use to the environment first, find out the location, type of condo you like, and price range. Then buy if need be.

I don't think there's a striction on foreigner right? I'm a foreigner myself? didn't have the problems when coming buying, no agent has asked me are you a citizen or not....??? :???:

I agree with Bonbon, y dun u rent first, and get yself comfortable in Singapore before buying. In many ways, Singapore lifestyle is different from Hong Kong. Once u are comfortable, u can start looking up yr own place which can be convenient for u and her.
Most private apartments can be bought by foreigners.
