Feedback on Eton House pre-school

Post by GREGORY9814 » Mon, 11 Dec 2006 4:59 am

Hi,

My family and I are due to relocate from England to Singapore early next year and am looking for anyone that can provide feedback on Eton House Pre-school. We have looked at many of the British based International Schools for our eldest daughter who is six, but feel that some of the larger schools such as Tanglin and UWC will be too overwhelming for her first international experience. Eton house seems to offer a more 'friendly' environment but my wife and I are concerned about the lack of feedback on the school. It is very rarely mentioned in any forum, so if there's anyone that has children who attend, or have attended Eton house then your opinion of the school would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Carl

Hi Carl, my son attends Eton House Preschool and is in nursery and I am happy with the standard of care. It is a very nurturing environment. There are various different Eton House Preschool campuses in Singapore. You have the same concerns that I did about some of the International Schools being overwhelming.

I would be happy to discuss further if you would like to email me on [email protected]

cheers
Fran

Eton House

When I arrived I too did the tour of schools for my 4 year old daughter. It was quite overwhelming and I was disappointed at the academic pressure that many of the schools seemed keen to push as their selling point.
Then I visited Eton House (the Mountbatten Rd one). I couldn't stop smiling! They were the first school that kneeled down to my daughters level and asked her questions directly. They included her into our entire conversation, and asked me many questions about her personally rather than informing me of the system she'd have to fall into and what was expected of her.
They were by far the most child-centred and child developmentally aware than any of the "major" schools I visited.
My daughter has been their for 3 months now and she is thriving in the secure and appropriately challenging environment. :D

my daughter is nearly 3 yrs old and she attends eton house for the past one year. the ratio is very low (whitley rd branch) and my daughter is very happy. Your daughter is six, so you could perhaps look into Chatsworth International School that follows the british curriculum. it's not as big as UWC. hope this helps....one word of advise, kids get used to environments very fast, it really comes down to the teacher.
good luck

Eton House on Broadrick Road goes to Year 6 (age 11), and follows the IB programme (International Baccalaureate) PYP (Primary Years Programme). :D
