PhD Careers in Singapore

Post by driekus » Mon, 04 Dec 2006 1:39 pm

I have done a search in the forums to check and this question hasnt come up. None of the salary guides including the Hayes has any meaningful data close to my situation.

Does anyone have any experience on salaries for people with a PhD in the life sciences field. Im interested in both post-doc or industry salaries.

Is it relatively easy with a PhD to get into Singapore?

Thankyou

A fresh PhD holder from a recognised university could expect an annual base salary of SGD48,000 per annum, or SGD4,000 per month, if appointed as a Research Fellow at one of the universities or A*STAR institutes. A candidate who has published journal papers and/or won international research awards will stand a better chance of being employed.

The private sector normally offers a higher remuneration.

You could apply directly via e-mail by looking up the respective websites of prospective employers
