You need to speak mandarin to the Chinese passengers. I think that's the reason they want us to be able to speak mandarin. :)

30th Nov has past, I have not receive any letter.
It's upset me. Maybe I lost my last chance for interview, since I'm 25 years old ready.

I was at the October intake last year but was booted out in the final mgmt round . In fact, Jal recruitment process was much simple as compared to SQ. First thumb rule is that is to dress formally. I was in black jacket and black skirt with skin coloured stockings and covered shoes. Tied-up hair and some make up. PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL. Never be late. The japanese culture is very concerned with this as I have previosuly worked at FANCL.

They will greet you when you arrived at their office. Once you have registered your name, they will take your height and weight and you can proceed to wait for your round 1 interview.
There around 8 - 10 girls in round 1 and we were told to place our bags on the side of the table before we proceed to sit accordingly. Unlike in SQ, we just sit and wait for our turn to introduce ourselves. At JAL, all of us stand up first and sat down upon been told to do so by the interviewer.

In this round, we will be asked ANY questions by the chinese speaking middle-aged lady. Others I think are all japanese (mixed of ladies and guys). They will listen to your answers. My questions are basically : 1) Why do you want to join JAL 2) Does your parents approved of your decision 3) What makes you think you can be a cabin crew? etc ... Basically the questions are all the very similar questions in all cabin crew interviews. Just have to smile and answer truthfully. Its quite a long introduction cum Q&A in round 1. In fact, I have already sensed that I will get through this round as the lady was smiling very sweetly to me.

I have also remembered one of my group girls mentioned that she has applied for JAL some time back and did not attend the interview because of her family matters. When the interviewer asked whether she called back to cancel her interview appointment time, she shook her head and said NO. And the Japanese lady Interviewer made her very loud sound and shook her head side to side (very disappointed kind of look) and can tell that she do not want to continue with the interview. So sometimes, when we answer questions during an interview, we must be smart enough to answer them ;)

Next , will be the skin check (you will have to change to your shorts and spag top) - you will being told to bring along in the email sent to you upon interview appointment fixed. They will check your body from head to toe - I would say quite strict.... Erm, basically i think as long as you do have suicidal marks and tattoos...you will definitely pass this round.
However, they are quite concern with birthmarks or burn marks which I have both and the lady who checked my skin ushered me to the lady interviewer to double confirm whether i am passable. (both marks are quite light). And she passed me.

Next, is the chinese reading passage. Its quite easy. You will be given a short passage regarding plane annoucement. (let you read 2 mins and once you are ready, you can read aloud to the lady in charge in a room). I am also no good in mandarin but I am able to do it. :)

After all these rounds, you are told to go back and those successful candidates are told to come back next week. You will get a call around 5 plus. I got mine around that time.

At the final mgmt round, its kind same as Round 1 but interviewed by different panel of judges. I am not sure why I couldnt get it. The lady also never smile at me. And there goes my cabin crew dream ..
