Post by urbanmelodies » Thu, 17 Apr 2008 9:07 pm

Hi! I am new here... and I've just seen the advert. on the next recruitment for JAL~

Really excited, but I have a question... Do they only go for girls of a certain size? I've so much interest in the country and language, so i just thought of trying~ cause it would be nice. =)

If anyone can reply? It'd be appreciated lots.

Thank you~
And all the best to all you future applicants! =D

Hi UrbanMelodies,

In reply to your ans, i believed it is quite standard. It shouldnt be too fat so that the FA can move along the narrow space in the flight. Also, as stated, must be higher than 1.58m.

What is ur main conscern in ur body size? Says that you have tummy etc, it should be fine as long as it can be covered by the uniform..hehe

I will try to submit the application form. Dunno will be shortlisted or not... I am wondering what criteria they are looking for too? Outlook is more important or how well do we in the presentation. Sometimes, nervousness will affect our presentation....

i guess courtesy is most impt to the Japanese. During the interview, it will be best to bow after walking in, and also after the interview before leaving the room, guess they will be very impressed.. There will be 5 interviewers inside the room, with 1 or 2 Japanese, and also, they will pop questions to you one after another, which is kinda stress.. :)

Potential questions are like:
1. Why are you keen to join Japan Airlines?
2. What kind of image do you have of Japan Airlines as compared to other airlines?
3. Have you ever consider joining another airlines? Why?
-You are Singaporean so why don't you apply for SQ?
4. What are your strengths as a stewardess?

You mean u bow when u go in for the interview?
I personally think is not that necessary...because the interviewers will know that most of the applicants will not know much abt japanese culture, example is rude to cross ur leg, so they wont penalise u if u do that...
=)Most importantly is ur friendliness and keep smiling

For myself, i didnt really bow but i just paused a little at the doorstep and greet them with a little nod. hmmm, to be frank, if u do find out more, and know all these little culture, it will definately be a plus point, agree? cos maybe they will think that at least you bother to find out all these before going for an interview, its like, respecting them, respecting the culture, they will be impressed, trust me.. =) yes, smile is very important, even in any other airlines.. :D

oh ya, another to add, i heard before, Japs hates red-painted nails, cos to them, its like a prostitute.. so please avoid having red nails.. :)

I think they meant is 6 weeks in SG, 6 weeks in Japan..not 3 mths in Japan.
I can say JAL training is a bit tough but once the training is over, everything will be fine =)
