Criteria for getting EP

I have been offered a job from a company in Singapore. I need to give a notice to my current company. The company has applied for EP on my behalf. But, I am wondering that before getting the EP shall I submit my resignation or not.

Here are my details.

(1) Monthly salary is SGD 7000.
(2) I have total 4 years of experience.
(3) I have M.Tech degree from IIT (India)
(4) It is a Marine/Oil & Gas sector engineer job.
(5) It is a 2 year renewable contract

Kindly advise that what are the chances of getting the EP? What is the criteria for approval/rejection of the EP?

Based on the barest of facts that you have supplied, I would think that it will not be much of a problem. Oh, a point to note, EP HAVE to be applied for and sponsored by the employer. You can get an in-principle approval for an EP but you still have to have an Employer to Sponsor you.

I have rarely seen anybody rejected for EP's in the O & G sector and spent 14 years recruiting for and the 15 years before that working in that industry. (22 of those years here in Singapore/SE Asia)
