About cost living

Post by paketillo » Tue, 21 Nov 2006 5:42 pm

Is there any site where I can evaluate some typical prices?

Of course, in this site I can find flat rentings and so on, but in order to check how expensive will be my life there, I would like to know the price of some typical products: newspaper, bus ticket, gym monthly, ...

Thanks!!

Just think most things aren't cheap

food hall food and fast food are cheap, taxis are cheap though add up when used all the time.

Trips/excusions are cheap, tax is low but most other things are similar or dearer than London.

An apartment where you'd want to live isn't cheap, I expected to pay $3k and ended up paying $3,800 for an apartment instead of a house!

Beer isn't cheap! Education for children isn't cheap 5-8k GBP per child per year! childcare is cheaper around 2-5k depending on quality.

You can get some cheap things, furniture isn't bad, but in general you get what you pay for!

Having said all that I love the place! 8)

Thanks for your info.

About food, as I love cooking, I think I would cook at home most of days.

Accomodation would be provided by the company. No wife, no children, so most interesting is info about trips, taxes and so on.

So If I get a flat with furniture, no family, 4K SD at month would be enough to make a quite good lifestyle and save some money??

Thanks Again

I think you can survive with that income – provided you watch out your entertainment expenses.
