Biz and PR, feasible or not???

Post by Bodacious » Mon, 20 Nov 2006 3:45 am

I'm in the early stages of finding out info on relocating to Singapore. I am currently engaged to a Singaporean and would like to buy a business in Sg. As a foreigner is it even possible to buy an existing business in Sg before applying for PR as the Spouse of a Singaporean Citizen??? I am interested in purchasing a business in Sg. I would like to use owning the business and drawing an income as a source of income/employment toward my PR application, but is this even feasible??? We haven't applied for my PR and would like to reinforce our application by proving our income/sustainability by investing in a preexisting co.

That's kinda kinky. You can get a PR as an investor if you're willing to plunk down a fairly serious chunk of cash ($1 million plus) to expand an existing business or create a new one, but that's not quite the same as just taking over an existing business. Contact Singapore has a list of your basic options, so explore which ones are right for you:
