$3000 RENTAL BUDGET

Post by smerlion » Mon, 20 Nov 2006 2:54 am

Can I possibly expect to be able to find a 3 bedroom house to rent for S$3000 a month?

Which would be the best places? I'm going to work in the Thomson area.

Thanks :D

yeah, me too suggest that you should go for condominium. At least you have more facilities and more affordable utilities bills comparing to a house.

smerlion,

if you wana have a taste of the local culture, you should try living in hdb. For a 4 room flat (3 room and 1 living room) prob that'll cos you abt 1.8K to 2K... give it a try...

But don't the condos tend to be too overcrowded?

I have seen some lovely cluster-housing but they seem rather expensive.

Anyone had any experience with Townerville?

Yes, it is possible, no problem.

Check the classifieds in the Straits Times every day, more precisely the section "houses for rent". condo are always listed per district, houses are not.

Alternatively, go walk or drive around in the area you prefer and check if there are houses with a sign saying they are for rent, which are quite a few houses.

All the hype about rent being so expensive only means you have to put in a bit more effort, but for that money you can find a 3 bedroom house, for sure.

We ourselves just moved to a house in a prime district, no 15, in east coast, 3 bedroom, with a garden, freestanding bungalow, renovated, S$2.3k.
Time will come....
