or Hotel 1929
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live the questions now... Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live... into the answer ~Rainer Maria Rilke~

Mind sharing please?

I've stayed in all three. The Scarlet is my favorite by a long shot (good location, great rooms, great staff, great bar on the roof), but make sure you don't get one of the windowless rooms in the cheapest category. I found Majestic overpriced for what you get, although some of the rooms are pretty wacky. The cheaper rooms in Hotel 1929 are incredibly tiny, although I've heard good things about the rooftop minisuites complete with outdoor jacuzzi (no personal experience tho).

In New Majestic? The Aquarium room, which is quite kinky

haha.

That's interesting.
Does anyone happen to know about this Berjaya Duxton Hotel?
Was told it is a boutique business hotel.
I wonder if it's nice.

Yet another renovated shophouse hotel, but unlike the others discussed it's all in the old-school pseudo-Raffles mold. No personal experience though, I've never really had good experiences with other Berjaya properties. Hear the French restaurant is supposed to be pretty decent tho...

M hotel's jacuzzi suite looks pretty good from their online site.
Do you think it's worth a try, jpatokal?
That's another business hotel though.

I've stayed in M Hotel too. It's a very standard-issue business hotel (about the only quirky touch is the miniature climbing wall in the gym) and hardly the kind of place for romance. (Except maybe with the Filipina painted ladies in the bars...)

What would you suggest for a birthday surprise?
Milllenium chain of hotels has a B&B offer with a birthday surprise,
and it's pretty cheap. I wonder if it's good

As said, Scarlet is at the top of my list for romantic boutique hotels in Singapore.

Such a pity..the place is really nice for a short staycation. Now turned into a quarantine location.

That’s the case for many of the nicer hotels. At least we are able to get some use out of them and help to keep the hospitality industry afloat.

It might be totally unrelated, but that hotel is on the same corner as the Erawan Shrine which had the peculiar terrorist attack years ago.
