I intend to visit Singapore in Dec so I thoght I can get my first digital camera in Singapore since the price should be better than UK prices. Will I also have to pay for GST since I am told that foreigners need not pay GST?
Im looking for something with the following features :
5-6 MP
Pictbridge supported as we are using our HP printer with Pictbridge function
Reasonable built-in memory space
Sharp / clear image for night or dimly lit background
Slim / compact
Requires AA battery if possible as they are easily obtained
Budget : SGD$ 180-300
Can anyone recommend some models that meet the above features - or better

? I have in mind, a Samsung A503 (red). Is this a good buy?
Thanks!!
GST you can claim back when leaving at the airport providing you get the paperwork, when purchasing. AA batteries are rubbish and expensive in the long run, although rechargeable are ok, they run down very quickly.
I don't think you will save much, if anything, these days, most of the top brands have the pricing pretty well organised now, even though fixing is illegal. You'll only pick up a generic camera for 300$, try another 200$
If your quick this may still be available

For 300$ I was just thinking, i could recommend the Sanyo Xacti which is a mpeg 4 movie camera, I have one myself, and i can tell you, i would be lost without it, i take it every where, and use it much more than my SLR digital, it can also take still pictures, and while i was in UK with it, Friends wanted to swap their New Sony digital for it. Buy 2gb memory and you can record for 2 hrs, here it is
http://store.sanyousa.com/webapp/wcs/st ... &langId=-1 you will have to bargain for it, they will start around 450, but tell them you want 2gb fast memory for it and extra battery for that price. The battery life is very good, and you don't really need to use flash, in many cases.
