UK TV issues?

I remember seeing something about this and I'm not sure if I have an Cable or Tv issue but can anyone expand?

I've brought my TV over it's a 5 year old Sony thing with instruction for millions of counties including Japan?

I've got to play around with it tonight but when Starhub came round they struggled to get it to work?

The wierd bit was though it was showing the information pag for star hub and also a grainy picture of sum of the channels hence me not being sure?

anyone else had any issues?

If you connect a DVD player or VCR to the TV what's the picture quality like? The reason I ask is whether its a North/South issue like discussed here: http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/F_crtfaq.html or if it's just an issue of tuning correctly to the signal (you didn't mention what type of TV it is - CRT, Plasma, ...?).

To a degree it's not perfect slightly out of focus but it's not bad? the bit I don't understand is why do that for TV and not for DVD? DVD is perfect? I've got them coming out again tomorrow and I'll see after this I'll be buying a new one! 8(

It was just s crap Cable guy. 1st guy said it was my TV 35 minutes buggering around?

2nd Guy was out of the place in 5-10 minutes, happy days!
