Postby cuneyt » Sun, 05 Nov 2006 11:52 pm

Does anyone knows about Turkish Oriental (antique-semi antique)rugs and carpet business in SG and if any exist there already and how,or will it work?.

Its for a friend of mine who has a this business in Japan and considering to open a shop in SG and we are trying o collect market feedbacks.

Any advice would be highly appreciated,

If they are similar to Persian Carpets then there a quite a number of them here. Most of them have been around for the 20 or so years I've been here in Singapore. Very well established with very good reps (for the most part).

KSL,

No, even he married with a Japanese lady, he is a Turkish fella, not Iranian.

Have another Japanese friend who is also Turkish rug importer in Japan and very interested in SG market and with A plus customers field there.

Briefly, Turkish and Iranian rugs and carpets are very similar but in different taste and worth so I cant talk about any strong competiotion to eachother.
