Morning Traffic: Upper Bukit Timah & Bukit Timah Road

Post by cinder » Sun, 05 Nov 2006 5:06 pm

I am considering moving out to Cashew Road, near Upper Bukit Timah Road. If so, I will ride bus from Upper Bukit Timah Road to Little India MRT station to get to work (my office is somewhere near Boon Keng MRT station).

Now, how is the traffic in the morning rush hour, along Upper Bukit Timah and Bukit Timah Road? How long roughly will it take? Will the journey be an endless traffic jam?

Anybody please share with me the experiences?

Thanks a lot in advance - I like the place but HATE get caught in the traffic. I dont mind long (45mins) journey, as long as no jam.

I always walk pass Up Bt Timah to go for my morning exercise at Nature Reserve around 7 a.m. during weekdays. Unless it is school or public holiday, the traffic is heavy on this stretch of Up Bt Timah Road (between opp Courts to the traffic light before turning to PIE). You can take bus service 67. Once the bus turn into Dunearn Road, the traffic is quite smooth (depending on the hours as there are quite a number of schools along that road).

Iused to live in Cashew Road along time ago ..if you get on a bus down to bukit panjang then on the expressway it is quick into the city but if you have to go past the poly in the morning it is a nightmare!!!

I live on Bukit Timah Rd, near Balmoral, and my place looks down onto Dunearn Rd so I have a great view of the morning traffic! If its really bad on this stretch its usually between 7 and 730 in the morning, which is peak hour for the schools stringed along here - before (which is too early for me to be headin to work) or after is better. Traffic backs up a bit at Newton Circus as well...
