We are moving from UK to Singapore in next few months. I have got a six years old daughter who is in year 1. My initial contract with the employer is of 3 years.
International School fee is included in our package so the obvious choice for schooling will be Tanglin or Chartsworth because of the British curriculum.
My daughter is already couple of years ahead in reading and mathematics as compared to her age group. I am not claiming that she is a genius but she is quite intelligent and loves reading.
Are there any schools that have separate programs for children as per their capabilities? I just have a feeling that she is not stretched enough in her school here.

Hi Buzz,
We moved to Singapore May 2005. At the time my daughter had completed 2.5 terms of year one in the UK. She was one of the youngest in her class as she is a July birthday. My daughter currently attends Tanglin and is now in year three.
In the UK she was attending a small independant school which was in the top 10 of the independant league table. She was given a chantel reading reading test when she was 5 and 6 months and her reading test result came back that she had a reading age of 7 and 9 months. We came to Singapore expecting her to be in the topof the class especially in reading and to my surprise we found her reading to be average in her class. I have been astounded by her improvement and can only praise Tanglin. The school is leagues above the school she was attending in the UK and she has now in top sets in her classes. If you are keen to send your daughter to Tanglin you will need t get her name down. We put my daughter name down in the Janaury and did not get a space until the September. It is a lovely school and has a very family nature considering its size. I hope this helps - Good Luck

My daughter will be starting Primary next year. Do you know if Tanglin offer a Gifted Program?

No gifted program at Tanglin but there are a number of children in each year who are in the "gifted" range and teachers will stretch them accordingly. Further up the school there are enrichment classes in maths, art etc but not at the infant school level. Differentiated reading work and maths work is the norm though and I would be surprised if your daughter didn't find at least a small peer group working at her level.
