S pass Rejected

Post by tiger143 » Thu, 26 Oct 2006 8:38 pm

Hi all,
I got a job but my S pass was rejected stating that the company has insufficient quota. It's an IT company. There were 2 singaporeans in the month of july, 3 in august, 4 in september and 5 singaporeans in the month of october. The CPF contribution submission for october will reflect the employment of the fifth person. Also there is one person with an Employment Pass. Is there any chance for approval if I make an appeal by november 15th? Or will MOM strictly look for all the 5 ppl to contribute for the cpf for atleast 3 months?

work permit rejected too

Well, we somehow have the same case. My company applied a work permit for me. However got denied. According to the moderator, I'm overqualified for a work permit. So the company made an appeal for an S pass, I'm currently waiting for my appeal results.

For S pass, a levy of $50/month and a 5% cap is applied. Also, there should be 5 CPF contributors. I dunno, the outcome of my appeal...Btw, how were you able to find out the basis of your S pass rejection. As far as I know MOM does not disclose such info...

It's clearly stated in the MOM rejection letter that the company has insufficient quota to employ a foreigner under S pass...

And r u aware of the change in S pass quota?
