Taxation System in singapore

Post by Karhu » Thu, 26 Oct 2006 2:24 pm

For and expat how Taxes are calculated on income?
And can you live ok with what is left?
Like if you have kids and wife to support how much should one earn to keep a reasonable lifestyle.
Do they take out for medical cost or do you have to pay it yourself or the company you work for.

:)

That would depend on how much you earn wouldn't it?

That would depend on just what you consider a reasonable lifestyle.

I suppose it would depend on the employer?

Wah sms, you're so mean today you sound like me

Mr. Bear, compared to your homeland taxes in Singapore are a joke. For most expats income taxes are under 10%, paid in installments one year after you've actually earned the money. Maximum tax rate is around 15%. And if you're an expat and travel a lot (>100 days/year), you can even apply for a tax exemption for those days :o
