California fitness membership sold at discount price

Post by lorindatin » Wed, 25 Oct 2006 11:51 pm

Hi there,

I've 21 months unlimited access California Fitness (town area Bugis branch) membership selling at discounted price of $800.

Originally it's for 24 months, i paid $1,142 (unlimited access). I only used 3 months.

Due to relocation, i'm willing to sell it at $800 only for the remaining 21 months, which is $38 per month.

If you're interested, pls call me at 91996400 asap to arrange transferring.

Cheers!
Lorinda

CA Fitness Membership

Post by libragal71 » Sun, 29 Oct 2006 7:33 pm

Hey Lorinda,

Is this membership only for Bugis location? I work downtown so want access to the one close to Raffles Place. Let me know. I may be willing to take it off your hands. Although I may only need for 12 months...BTW, what to do you think about the gym? Thanks!

California Fitness gold memberships can be transferred between outlets for $99. But can you really transfer it to another person? :o

This is strange I already informed her, that I didn't think it was transferable to another person, I have a platinum for 3 years, I can use any where, but its not transferable, in fact no membership is transferable, they have a picture on file, normally and check each time it is scanned in. The last time i posted on this issue, it was deleted :???:

HI KSL,

This is really weird. I remember i read your post and i also replied to you. my post was deleted too. for your information, i just transfered my yoga membership to my friends after i provided documents with no fees charged. It's prepaid, 24 months as well. There're exceptional cases. and mine is one.

I asked the CF's manager to help look into the case to see if she can process my request as i'm not asking for refund but either transferred or access to other gym abroad. i'm not asking for refund as i think that's not fair for the gym. I can't stay in the country as my work status will be expired soon and i'm moving abroad. It would be great if IRAS accept that i've a gym membership for 21 months that i need residence status to attend California fitness. It's unfair for me after paying for 24 months and using only 3 i'm penalised for circumstance that i've not controlled. I've to admit that She's very helpfull. she said she will look into it and see if there's any way she can help. I may be able to get transferring to somebody for the remaining 21 months i've alreayd paid or i may be able to access gym abroad. I believed in my case there's room for negotiation. I trusted she sincerely want to help.

Today i poped by to the gym just to find out the result. The manager told me unfortunately she can't help. I can't transfer and i can't access gym abroad. I basically can't remain in the country as my work status will expire and i'm moving back home, i can't enjoy the remaining 21 months of gym membership pass anymore. so it's my problem right? surely is.

I want to highlight as well that,
Her boss (an ang moh) rejected my request the day before i approached the manager, after another Assistant repoerted to him about my case. He just told him NO without even talking to me.
The reason given by the Assistant was because i've paid my fees. Only those with Monthly-due can be 'considered'. My case it's a NO. So even those with monthly-due payment case can be 'considered' i wonder why could't mine not be considered at all. The assistant also told me that she's the one to process membership issue so i'd approach her. If my case can not be processed. She could have told me on the spot when i asked her to process my request.

KSL
I belive the reason why our posts were deleted it's because Planet Fitness felt that i'm setting a bad examples for other members to follow suit after knowing that i've put up post offering transferred membership for bidding.

i've the right to ask if anybody is interested getting gym membership after the list of prospect ran out. They'd have confidence in themselves. What are they afraid of? That i trigger a snowball of members want to leave the club after regretting signing up. are they evacuating the country too? I do not understand why california fitness gym has the right to intervene, such as asking the web master to remove ppl's postings. And i do not understand why the web master give in. Unless....CF is one of the advertiser?

Well, anyway. I think if CF is a professional customer oriented health service provider they'd process my case and let me leave the country without grievience.

Last but not least, i really thank the manager. But i think her boss, the angmo GM whatever, SUCKS!

I urge those who have not signed up, don't sign up the prepaid payment. It's a trap you can't get out in case you've sudden need.

Hello Webmaster,

Since you've deleted KSL's post and my reply to KSL.
Why not deleted the complete threads of this topic??

IN that way, no body will know this issue ever happen in CF.
That works even better for CF isn't it?

Califonia Fitness I know are not so friendly, when it comes to getting your money or transfer, I have had the problem when i left Taiwan to come here.

In Taiwan, I paid 45,000NT for life membership, plus 1,000 a month, with Hollywood Fitness, Califonia bought them out, and when I arrived here, they didn't want to honour the contract, they wanted me to pay another 2500 Sing $, which I refused to pay.

There customer service sucks, and they are only interested in taking your money, thats the whole business set up, to make money. I eventually agreed to pay a one time amount for 3 years, which worked out very cheap.

But they are not helpful at all, and when i was in Taiwan a while back, they make it so difficult having to sign in each day, lots of paper work, instead of having the data on Computer, it was a real pain in the backside. I complained but, what good does it do!

They will suffer in the long term, when people start to refuse to sign up.

And to be honest even the monthly paying fees, they will not let you transfer, they say you can, but when it's time to do it, its a no no. read the small print in the contract.

I really had to fight for a good deal in the end, and I would have taken them to court, I had the contract and there was very little they could do, there was no way I was going to pay the monthly fee, they wanted.

Hi KSL,

How can they treat somebody who's signed up lifetime membership like that?? Are they servicing or conning?
If you can't access gym in other country due to unforseen work circumstances. Then, the 'promise' of access to gym worldwide is a scam pitched to us and that you're able to transferred if you can provide proof of leaving the country is also another lie.

Most likely this post will be deleted too by the webmaster after CF's pressure.

Well Libragal,

The fine prints said membership is not transferrable. They'd not lie to prospect that you can have a way out if they're leaving the country for good. I trusted the sales person who's well already left after closing my deal. The sales person's statements are bunch of lies right? surely it's my problem that i've to leave the country for good, surely it's my problem of believing the sales persons that 'it can be done'.

Look at what is going on and how they handled it. They went to the extant deleting our posts. Everybody told me my case is exceptional and it can be done. After ding ding dong dong for so long and they still can't give me a satisfying solution.

The moment you sign up, it's the end of it. I pledge those who're having infinity lifetime membership to quit before they're betrayed, the existing members change your gym after your membeship comes to end, prospect wll you know what to do.

Cheers
Lorinda

I will voice my opinion on these clubs, simply becuase when Holly Wood fitness started up in Taiwan, and Thailand, the owners were all ex Califonia Fitness people, But for the 18 months of recruiting in Taiwan, I already had the idea, that this

Company was actually supported by Califonia Fitness for one reason, and that was to take market share, by a new recruitment drive under Hollywood Fitness, Becuase they were already feeling the results of bad customer service.

So when hollywood fitness was handed over to Califonia Fitness it was without members being notified, so on my return from Holiday I was shocked to find a new sign on the gym.

This kind of sell is very much like multi-level, only the sales team are encouraged not to lie, but not to tell the trueth either, mostly because the trainers are on commission only, with no basic wage, what do they care, they have to eat! If they can keep your eyes of the small print of the contract, they have you nailed.

My advice to all is not to believe the sales team, believe whats on the contract, and that is all and i mean all in the favour of the fitness clubs. Any fitness fanatic will tell you they don't really need a gym to work out, they had been working out long before gyms came on the scene.

The gyms were not made for the fitness fanatic, the fanatic benefits from a good subscription deal, if he trains 3 to 6 days a week,

Gym cannot make money out of these people, they target the ones that need help, convince them to take a year or two years, knowing very well, that these people don't last more than 3 months on averag.

The people are not geared towards fitness, just weight loss, then they stop going, but a 3 month subscription is even more expensive if you can get one.

I am pretty happy working out at CFC bugis, (of cos you will need to treat the staff as invisible.) and decided to renew my membership today with the promise that i will be getting one-time transfer as i may need to go overseas and a free one time time-freeze option..
I came home and check out this forum.. and went back to read the contract i have signed and now i am worried i will not get what was promised... i realised i was diverted when signing my initial on the time-option where it is stated i have to pay 100 for it (i was promised to be given free for that as well.)
The SA promised to give me the transfer letter tomorrow but i realised that the contract that i have signed stated non-transferable. .. i wonder what nonsense i will get from him tomorrow.. sh**.

I hope he is a honest man, he seems to be! we shall see tomorrow. arghh. If he is not, i will let the whole world know who he is...
